July 2026

  • Novena to OLMC. We concluded our Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel on July 15. This Novena is the most attended. The presentations and discussions on the “Beatitudes” were deep and engaging. Our thanks to Dianne who did the research on the theme for this Novena, to all 9 presenters who did awesome jobs, and to all attendees who came night after night.
  • Celebration of the Feast of OLMC. We celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on July 16, starting with Mass, followed by breakfast, and cake cutting for the birthday of Carmencita and two other Holy Spirit parishioners. This, too, was well attended by our members and a number of parishioners. We were graced by the presence of our Regional Coordinator Catherine Campbell, Regional Formation Director Patrick Bowles and Fr. Rinto, CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate), priest from Holy Spirit. Our thanks to everyone for working together in the church and the Fireside Lounge, and to all who brought everything to make this an exciting, memorable day, all in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
  • Recruiting. Nona and Maru have met with St. Anne’s Church authorities in our effort to have our community introduced and invite interest. They have posted flyers on the church’s bulletin board. Our thanks to Nona and Maru.

  • Regional Day of Recollection, August 1, 2026: at the House of Prayer in Napa. A sign-up sheet for attendance and drivers will be passed around. Nona is in charge. We need a headcount, so please make sure you sign up.
  • Temporary Profession: Cristina and Nenette are scheduled to make their temporary profession on the Day of Recollection in Napa.
  • Novena to St. Therese of Lisieux, September 22-30: Our next novena topics will be on St. Therese’s life and writings.
  • NO COMMUNITY MEETING IN AUGUST. The Day of Recollection takes the place of the monthly community meeting.
  • October 18, 2026 Topics for Admonition: We welcome suggestions relating to Carmelite spirituality. Let the council know by August 1, 2026 so we can invite our next speaker. Marilou has these suggestion: 1) Control of the Tongue; 2) Levels of Silence
